A shower in the evening to simply rinse off the day and slip under the covers fresh and clean!

There has always been debate about whether a morning or evening shower is better. The truth is, there are pros and cons to both times of day and there is no universally perfect time to shower. It all depends on what kind of person you are and what activities you do before or after your shower.

Above all, it depends on the shower effects that you can benefit from the most. Everyone has to find out for themselves what time of day suits them best for a shower.

But there are actually some reasons why we might prefer a shower in the evening. Some of us just find it difficult to get up earlier in the morning (especially in winter) to take a shower. They prefer to stay in bed a little longer. Especially if we don't necessarily need exposure to water in the morning to get fit, there may be some benefits to showering in the evening instead. Because this relaxes body and mind before you slip under the covers.

If you have allergies, it might even be a must for you to take a shower at night. This flushes away potential allergy triggers.

These settle on your skin and hair throughout the day. In principle, however, it is always advisable to remove old make-up, dust, dirt and oils that have accumulated over the course of the day from the skin in the evening. Our skin peels and renews itself while we sleep. Cleansing before going to bed supports this process. The bacteria that clog pores and cause pimples are removed and the skin's ability to breathe is improved. You had a stressful day and your skin feels sweaty and somehow oily? Do you sometimes have trouble falling asleep?

If you want to relax your body and mind and improve your sleep, a shower in the evening can definitely be of great help. Adding a shower to your “go to bed” routine at night is great for separating day and night. It's a good signal for your body to let go of the stress of the day. It reduces mental and physical tension and helps you switch to relaxation mode. No phone, no emails, just warm water and the scent of your favorite toiletries to wash away the stress. It's time to completely relax your body and mind! Your heartbeat, breathing, and metabolism slow down, signaling your body that it's time for bed.

But pay attention to the water temperature and what time you go to bed. Our body temperature naturally begins to drop in the evening. This is a signal for your body to go to sleep. So don't heat it up too much just before bedtime. This could disrupt your body's natural sleep signals. Otherwise, you will need some time to cool down before going to bed. A warm (not too hot) shower is therefore ideal to relax your body and get you ready for bed.
